Ryan Colin is the president of Automotion, having started the business after an eight year career in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series’ Organization with Dale Earnhardt, Inc.

Ryan has previously worked in the collision and restoration repair business before joining the racing industry. He has over 15 years of experience in a combination of collision, restoration, art graphics, and the racing industry.

After being hired at Dale Earnhardt, Inc., Ryan quickly moved up the ranks at DEI to become one of their foremost aerodynamicists and body specialist. In the process, he helped to oversee the bodywork during DEI’s restrictor plate track dominance of the late 90’s and beyond.

At one point, Ryan’s cars won seven of eight straight plate wins at both Talladega Superspeedway and Daytona International Speedway.

 

Having served on the raceday pit crews for the No. 15 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet and the No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet, Ryan was a part of three Daytona 500 victories with cars he personally helped to prepare.

Over the course of Ryan’s employment with DEI, he solidified several key contacts in the paint and body vendor departments. These relationships continue and are growing rapidly today with Automotion as the primary client.

Ryan has a very extended and diversified knowledge of the racing industry to collision and restoration repair. Deadlines are his specialty, having been on a very strict schedule in the racing industry. On the other hand, he is extremely detailed and time sensitive in collision and restoration jobs.
